Members Present: Fr. Michael Forge, Jerry Jennings, Maxine Koller, Cindy Maris, Clint Rain and Dean Whiteside
The meeting opened with a reading and a prayer by Fr. Michael at 7:00 p.m., October 29, 2007.
The high school religious education class gave a short presentation regarding their desire to attend a retreat at The Pines. They requested support for their project and ideas to help raise funds.
The minutes of the September 2007 meeting were read and accepted. The financial reports for September was reviewed. The September CLIU payment for the Morris St. House (A/N 2520) was posted to the Frances St. House (A/N 2515). A correction will be made by general journal entry in October business.
An amount of $26,000 was approved by the Catholic Foundation for the security cameras. The balance may be funded from the Church Festival funds.
Three Bids were received to demolish the structures and clear the lot on Morris Street as follows:
Billy Nabors in the amount of confidential
B & B Construction (Thomas Brown) in the amount of confidential
Henderson Scraping in the amount of confidential
The Council decided to get cost of fencing for the property prior to moving forward with the demolish project. Lone Star Casa sent a “Thank You” note and a copy of the program in response to our contribution. A total of $19,000 has been pledged for CCA toward the goal of $22,000 at this time. Father Michael continues to work with confidential daily to enhance her job skills. The financial review report was received. The report was very favorable and the cost was $2200.
The Finance Council agreed to match up to $1,000 for funds raised by the high school religious education class for their retreat. An amount of $400 for each deacon will be budgeted next fiscal year for retreat (October). An amount of $80 for each deacon will be budgeted for the Deacon Congress held in April. A new ice machine will be purchased due to condition of current ice machine. Christ Renews His Parish program will be funded in FY ’09 in the amount of $1700.
Recruiting for two Finance Council positions will be advertised in November bulletin as they expire at the end of December. An amount of confidential will be donated to the Guadalupe Radio Network (AM 910).
