Parish Council Meeting

April 16, 2007

I.                     Opening Prayer- Fr. Forge

III.                 Old Business

a.       Courtyard Tile.  Update by Myrna.  Tile is on backorder.  July is the projected date for installation. 

b.       Security System.  Update by Fr. Forge.  Four companies were selected to provide bids.  Two bids were received- $25,000 and $55,000.   Another company suggested having parishioners do some of the installation work to keep price lower.   This was not recommended by the security consultant.  Fr. Forge plans to approach the Catholic Foundation for a grant to assist with funding.

c.        White House status.  Fr. Forge.  House is scheduled to close next week.

d.       Baby Changing Tables.  Update by Leslie.  Wall mounted changing station cannot be installed in church restroom due to installation requirements.  Leslie will check into installation for restroom in parish hall.   

e.        Survey Result Initiative.  Silence at Mass is working.

f.         Stained glass window.  Update by Fr. Forge.  Currently in design stage.

g.       Tree trimming in parking lot.  Update by Fr. Forge.  Bobby trimmed the trees.

IV.                New Business

a.       Balance Sheet.  Council reviewed current balance sheet.  Operating Account is at $51,957.61 with $10,000 allocated for down-payment on the house and $10,000 for the window.  Finance Council will make annual lump payment in July.  Payment to be between $15,000 and $30,000.  Debt reduction collection for this month was $4,500. 

b.       Parish Picnic.  Committee will meet this week to discuss options.

c.        Parish Survey Prioritizing.  Fr. Forge.  Next on the List- Usher training.  Council decided that all Mass Ministries could use updated training.  Meetings will be scheduled after all Masses in September: 9^th -EMs, 16^th – Altar Servers, 23^rd –Lectors and 30^th –Ushers.  Youth Ministry- Young Women’s Group and Columbian Squires are working for now.  Parish Outreach- Retreats and Spiritual Direction.

V.                  Misc.

a.       Fr. Forge’s Anniversary.  Thank you from Fr. Forge.  He “felt the love” from his parish.  At the Spanish Mass, children brought him flowers to offer to the Blessed Mother.

b.       Vacation.  Fr. Forge will be away June 18^th –June 22^nd.

c.        Father’s Day Novena.  Novena will be the nine days leading up to Father’s Day.
