Minutes
April 21, 2008
Present: Fr. Michael, Ray,
I. Father led the opening prayer.
II. Minutes were read from previous meeting.
III. Old Business
A. Window has been measured for the Stained Glass. Estimated cost of installation is $1,800. The Blessing is scheduled for May 25th.
B. Nothing to report on Ministry Fair Day.
C. Barbara Meshel is cleaning the Parish Hall. No new complaints as of yet.
D. Eagle Scout is still raising money for his project.
E. About 40 have signed up for this week's Health Screening.
F. No date has been set for CHRP. Council agreed this may not be the right time. Parish is uplifted and well right now. May be right for the Spanish Community at this time.
G. Grading the vacant lot has been delayed because of rain. Fence needs to be taken down. Waiting on bids.
H. Council shared pros and cons of Defibrillator for Parish. Due to cost, liability, and near by rescue service, Father and the council concluded it was not necessary. Prayer for the health of our parish is recommended.
IV. New Business
A. No Balance Sheet review. No significant Changes
B. Girl Scout (also sister of Eagle Scout) would like to stripe the Parish Hall parking lot. No commitment at this time.
V. Suggestion Box Items- 2 affirmations for the parish
VI. Misc./Other Items
-Bishop visited parish for Confirmation. It went well, and the Bishop put all involved at ease.
-Festival plans are coming together well. Festival Committee met, raffle tickets are out, and auction items are coming in.
- Question of co-ed Youth Ministry came up. Time might be right. Previous attempts have been made but fell through. Proposals are welcome.
-Spanish deacon candidates are progressing. Rafael is offering communion service for local workers on Sunday that cannot attend church.
-No suspects have been found for parking lot burglary.
