Parish Council Meeting Minutes for March 17, 2008
In attendance were Father Michael,
Jack Harvey, Myrna Wharton, Donna Hopson and Melody Zimmer.
Father Michael opened the meeting
with a prayer.
Parishioner Donna Hopson made a Defibulator Presentation.
Donna is the Nurse administrator of the Quinlan schools and had
purchased defibulators for every Quinlan School
District Campus. The Defibulators
cost approximately $1469 initially and would require a battery @ $395 every 4
years. Pads would need to be replaced
every 2 years @ $50.00. In order for the
Defibulator to be effective the Parish would need to
offer CPR. It is a 2-3 hour course and
requires $10.00 manuals. Donna discussed
offering a CPR course for the Parish.
Father read the minutes from the
last meeting which were approved.
Old Business:
A.
Father indicated the security system is up and running. There had only been one glitch and it was
repaired
B.
Father Michael reported the Stained glass window for the church is to be
completed May 25, 2008. The glass is
being created by Carl Trimbal out of
C.
Jack reported on the Ministry Fair.
He was amazed how many ministries there were. Someone from each ministry is setting up a
table for the fair.
D.
Father indicated we would hire contract labor to complete cleaning that
Alex and Marisella cannot complete.
E.
Father reported the Eagle Scout is still raising the money to complete
his project.
F.
The front to the bulletin has been updated.
G.
Father reported that the Health Screen Specialist would be at
New Business
Father passed around the March 17,
2008 Balance Sheet and reviewed with members noting the new Building is paid
off. He is obtaining lien releases from
the County. Monetarily the Church is
attacking long term liabilities one at a time.
Father discussed the Car vandalism
which took place on 3/16/08. A car in
the parking lot was broken into and 2 purses were stolen. Father has pictures taken by the security
camera. The thieves took credit cards
and cash and left the purses out by Starbucks.
They attempted using the credit cards in
Suggestions Box requested we have all the
lights off when the candles are lit for the Easter Vigil and usher give out
bulletins after mass as it was distracting before. There was also a suggestion to turn on the
living water statue - which is not turned on because it doesn't work.
Jack
Harvey reported the Festival questionnaire response was great – Respondents had
pledged 98 cases of water and 98 cases of soft drinks. Pray for good weather May 18.
