RCIA Window
During Holy Week of 2007
a generous donation was given to St. John's in honor of the
catechists who teach the RCIA program here at St. John's. The donor
indicated the funds were to be used at the discretion of the Pastor.
Fr. Michael immediately
knew that he wanted to install another stain glass window in the
church. Since the donation came from a soon to be convert to the
Catholic Faith, Fr. Michael chose as a theme for the window the
Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist).
The concept for the
depiction of these Sacraments was created by Fr. Michael and
communicated to artist H. Carl Trimble, III, M.F.A. of Carrollton,
Texas. Carl was commissioned to finalize the design and create the
window. Below are pictures of the installation of the window on May
22, 2008. The window will be dedicated on Sunday, May 25, 2008 the
Feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

The blue colors flowing
downward from the upper right hand side of the window represents the
waters of the Sacrament of Baptism. The orange/red flowing downward
from the left hand side of the window represents the descent of the
Holy Spirit as fire for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The brown
split circle in the center of the window with the red flowing from the
break represents the Body and Blood of Christ in the Sacrament
of the Eucharist. Furthermore, as blood and water flowed from the
side of Jesus when lanced by the soldier's spear, the water flows from
the broken Body of Christ along with the blood.
The background colors
of green and purple remind us that we are created for eternal life
(represented by green) and we are baptized into the royal priesthood
(represented by purple) of Jesus Christ.
