Affirmations:
1. “This person did a really great job”
2. “So Kool!”
3. “You did really good!”
The Council assumed that comments 1-3 were made regarding
the Suggestion Box.
4. “Ecumenical attitude of priest/parish is a very positive
thing. Have heard non-Cath. speak
respectfully of
Liturgical:
1. “Could Father Michael speak about church ettoquette (spelling?). I’d like to know whether I’m: receiving communion properly? Saying Confession properly? Etc. Etc. Not to condemn others but for my own correction. I feel poorly catechized! Maybe a separate Info talk or part of a sermon. Thanks”
Fr. Michael will consider possible ways to address this
concern. Information regarding church
etiquette is widely available on the internet.
Perhaps Father will utilize the “God Housekeeping” section of the
bulletin rather than devote homily to the issues.
2. “Give bulletins out after mass so people will not be reading them during mass.”
Bulletins will still be available before Mass; however Fr.
Michael will cover appropriate times to read the bulletin in upcoming church
etiquette catechesis. Reading the
bulletin anytime during Mass is not appropriate.
3. “Why is the microphone not used more. Or is it not set loud enough? Sure hate to miss those good homilies.”
The microphones are used.
Fr. Michael will check on the volume and speakers.
4. “How about a Dress code? No shorts for both men and women. Low cut &/or very short dresses for women. Eucharistic Ministers dress respectfully. Signed – A Sinner.”
Appropriate dress for Mass has been mentioned previously in
the God Housekeeping portion of the bulletin.
These friendly reminders will continue.
However, it is up to the individual (and parents) to exercise sound
judgment when dressing for
5. “Somewhere in the
bulletin tell where new members register.
I, crdle Cath<cradle Catholic (someone who
has been Catholic since birth)> know at back of church is forms. But, Non-Catholic wishing to register, who
joined RCIA did not know.”
Registration
forms are available in the back of the church on the stand with the prayer
intentions. Forms are also available in
the RCIA classroom when catechumens decide to register as parishioners.
