Liturgical:

1. This Easter Vigil, could we have all the lights turned off when the candles are being lit. It kinda loses the effect and it’s meaning, for me, a little. Plus I just miss it from my previous parishes. Thanks for Considering! Good idea, we’ll gave it a try this year and thought it worked out just fine. We’ll take it on a year to year basis.

2. Give out bulletins after Mass. It’s very distracting when it’s done before. Thank you for the suggestion. The consensus of the Parish Council is that we continue the current practice of handing out bulletins before Mass. We feel it allows the ushers an opportunity to greet people by offering a bulletin. Furthermore, we believe it is good for parishioners to read it over prior to or after their prayer time before Mass. There is so much happening at St. John’s that we want a well informed body of believers, especially now that the announcements are done before Mass. We do wish, however, that parishioners would not leave the bulletins in the pews after Mass. The courteous thing to do would be to take the bulletin home, throw it away or return it to the back of the Church.
